Although hearing the words, “I love you” is special and important, sometimes you wish you could tell your mate as well as hear from your mate those words, but in special and unique ways. Here are some ideas of how this can be accomplished:
- Rent his/her favorite movie, even if it is something you do not like, and plan an evening alone where you can be with him as he enjoys his special treat.
- When he/she gets out of the shower, hand him a warm, cozy towel just heated in the dryer.
- When you make him/her pancakes, first pour the words, “I Love You” on the griddle and cook for a minute to brown. Then, pour more batter over the words to create a round pancake. The result will be a pancake displaying those three special words when you flip it over.
- While he/she is out of town, wash his car and surprise him/her by picking him/her up in a clean, shiny car at the airport.
- Take him/her out to lunch.
- Have his/her favorite breakfast on the table along with the morning newspaper.
- Instead of bugging him/her to go to the grocery store with you, let him/her stay home.
- Display your favorite picture of the two of you on the refrigerator.
- Buy him/her a subscription to his favorite magazine

Thanks for the reminders. My hubby and I know we love each other but I often fail to do these little things that would reaffirm that love. I don’t want to ever take him or our time together for granted.
That is so true. Taking each other for granted is a mistake many make. Those little treats that we throw into our relationships help to let the other know we still think they are special.
I love the towel idea. Especially since it’s extremely cold in the mornings here. Great post!
Thanks Lily. Have a great day.
Ok – you’ve got another “pancake fan” here! LOL Wonderful post!
LOL I’m going to have to collect from the pancake batter companies. So much fun to be able to show those we love in simple, easy ways what they mean to us.
Love the post. I love the idea of the pancakes. I might do that for our anniversary on thursday. By the way, that is a lovely picture of the two of you.
Happy Anniversary to you & your hubby Bertha! Thanks for reading.
Hi Shawn, great little blog!!! Relationships challenge most of us and you are so right, actions can speak more loudly than words to say “I love you!”. Thanks for reminding us!
Have a great day
Lots of love
Vanessa
Thanks so much Vanessa. Relationships are what makes the world run aren’t they. Keeping them on track is the fun & interesting part of life. Thanks for stopping by!
Thoughtful and simple. Now if you let him stay home be sure to tell him, right?, so he can appreciate it. LOL. Sweet post.
lol, I can’t wait for the day for him to stay home. He knows how much he is loved and I know how much I am too. We are blessed.
Great suggestions and will do a couple. Thanks for also stopping by my blog and commenting. I am a subscriber to your posts as well. ~Maureen~
So glad you liked the suggestions. You have a great blog as well!
Yes, I really believe actions speak louder than words
Nice list of suggestions.
Words are always nice but some times we do need some action to put behind them.
I have to try that pancake idea. That sounds awesome!
The kids love it and hubby would feel left out without his. lol
